The right brands, the right prices and all of the pertinent information you want to know can be found right here on our website. However, ultimately, the decision will be based on what kinds of camping equipment, accessories, and other merchandise suit your personal desires and interest you most. Take into consideration the kinds of equipment you will need based on when and where you will be camping, and have a look at the accessories too.

Of course, you will have to have things like sleeping bags and tents etcthese are the essentials for anyone camping without an RV or camper. If you want to spoil yourself while camping, be as comfortable as possible, and make things especially easy, there are great types of camping equipment and accessories available for you.

But this new type of camping merchandise is very popular and, in our opinion, absolutely amazing.

There are, of course, people who prefer to use very little and really experience nature. However, most of us prefer to sleep with our head on a pillow instead of the hard ground. Accessories for Camera Surveillance

January 1st, 2009

If you have camera surveillance to help protect your home, it is important to have the proper accessories to ensure that everything works in tip-top shape. When you have a good surveillance system, it is more than just cameras giving you a continuous feed and making recordings. There are plenty of other supplies that need to be bought in order to make your entire system more effective.

Camera surveillance is very important for those who are interested in making sure that their families and their property are safe. It can help you identify intruders and vandals, as well as help you know when your kids are neglected or abused by a sitter or a nanny. Surveillance of the nature is indispensable, and in order to make sure that it is always working as it should be, you should make sure that you have all of the necessary accessories to complement your camera system.

Illuminators for surveillance equipment can be very helpful. Because they reach different ranges, and come in a variety of sizes, it is important to understand your home’s security needs when preparing to purchase these products. Most illuminators sit atop the camera, or somewhere near the camera’s location, and offer up light so that the camera can better “see” what is in its range. While shadowy objects can be made out at night without illuminators, they are very helpful as they shed better light and can lead to being able to more positively identify intruders and would-be criminals.

Camera housings are very important, especially for outdoor surveillance equipment. This is because CCTV housing protect the cameras from weather that is too hot, cold, windy, or wet. Your equipment will last longer when proper shielded and help you better protect your investment in home security. Many housings come with fans for the summer and heaters for the winter.

Other surveillance accessories that will help you make sure that your system does not unexpectedly fail include things like long-running (9 or 10 hours of footage) video tapes and rechargeable battery packs. Also, you will need cables for plug and play that have different lengths in order to ensure that all parts are correctly connected in your system of surveillance.

Try Core Power Yoga

December 31st, 2008

Core power yoga is an energetic yoga exercise that physically and mentally challenges to help connect to inner power without stopping and accompanied by a heated, climate controlled Vinyasa. It heals, detoxifies and stimulates the body and mind through balance and intention.

Power yoga has created a dynamic, challenging program that combines strength, sweat and spirituality. It recognizes power in different levels; first is the physical power which develops the body’s strength and improve health; second is the mental power or the will to concentrate on the practice; and last the spiritual power which is the power behind the physical and mental power.

Core power yoga is the Western version of the Indian Ashtanga Yoga. The term was was given by Beryl Bender Birch, an Ashtanga Yoga teacher. It has been brought to the west by followers of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, a renowned Sanskrit scholar who inspired Western Yogis with his Ashtanga Yoga Style and philosophies.

There are three programs in power yoga. “Core Power” is designed to strengthen abdominals and back and includes both abs-focused Vinyasa power yoga poses and variations of muscle-toning moves. “Unlocking Athletic Power” will develop flexible strength with an emphasis on abs, back, hips and pelvis. “Soul of Strength” on the other hand is a fast-moving power yoga program with a distinct “mid-body” emphasis and some very challenging moves.

Yoga sessions are done in a heated room and composed of different cardiovascular exercises intended to develop strength and flexibility, increase stamina, improves the ability to focus, release tensions and remove toxins through sweating.

Core power yoga practice also requires the execution of yoga poses. Poses are done in a fast pace, some poses are even held longer than the required five breaths. This practice can increase physical endurance and ability to focus on any task for a long time without breaking the concentration.

The Future of Thought Swapping

December 31st, 2008

In the future we will be able to have small chips in our brains and which will work like cell phones, but without the inherent flaws. You will not have to carry them around or worry about dropping them into the toilet.

Arthur C. Clarke in one of his short stories discussed this possibility and we are nearly here. As we get better at mapping the brain and understanding the nature of thoughts and the visual parts of the brain, thought swapping will be considered an obvious step. Will computers become smarter than humans? Well, computers and humans will be one in this case, so we will be equal. Instead of the preverbal file swapping or file sharing, you will be thought swapping. The future is closer than you think, have you considered this? It will be incredible in that you can swap the thoughts, emotions or experience of some one doing an extreme sport, such as jumping off a bridge with a parachute. People will sell these experiences and the VR world will literally be in your head.

For a species which studies other species which use ELF to communicate, use radar and sound to navigate, use all sorts of interesting methods to identify and protect themselves finally we will go beyond the communication skills which are made through the larynx. Even beyond the pseudo science of paranormal attributes, which are innate within us but have not been used or developed for centuries. What an incredible leap of mankind. Is mankind ready for these new opportunities and horizons. Will we use this for the positive? The negative. It may well depend on our ability to allow the flow of thought, while simultaneously allowing a private place in our minds which will not be shared, that which makes us ourselves. In other words we will once again get back to the tribe, society, which currently we are drifting from. We are social animals no doubt and we derive happiness from that sense of belonging. It is an innate tendency. Sharing thoughts and ideas allows for this. It delivers to the human race a completeness, a oneness, while maintaining the individual.

Gambling - When Losing Really Matters

December 29th, 2008

When Losing Really Matters

As they say, gambling is a game of chance. This means that nobody is sure when one will lose or win.

However, there is only one fact that remains. In gambling, there is bound to be a loser. In fact, most people contend that a game is not to be considered as gambling if it will not have losers. This goes to show that when people gamble, they are bound to lose more than win.

Today, more and more people are getting hooked up with gambling. They see this kind of activity as an outlet of their problems, a place where to get unwind from a hard day’s work, or simply a form of recreation. What they don’t know that when somebody starts to get hooked up with gambling, chances are he or she is bound to lose great things in the end.

So, how does it feel to lose gambling? Is losing really a part of the game? There are so many questions, yet, just a few answers. This is because people are not aware of the probability of somebody’s chance in winning the game of chance.

Here are some facts about gambling and its losing characteristic:

1. If people gamble more, chances are, they will lose more.

This is one great way how to lose in gambling. People just have to continue gambling and they will continue to lose more.

2. Because gambling entails a lot of money, most people tends to think that gambling is more about winning. They just don’t realize that losing in gambling has more impact and has more probability of getting it.

3. People will never win in gambling.

Statistics show that most of the people, who play gambling, will never be able to win because of the little chances that they have.

For example, in a game of card, there are 52 cards in a deck of cards, thirteen of which are four suits. A person’s probability of drawing the card that will make them win the game is only 1 in every 52 chances, and the chance of having a perfect hand of cards is 1 in 635,013,559,599.

Other examples are the games that use dice. Normally, each dice has six sides. This goes to show that for every 6 attempts people will throw, they will get 1 chance to get the number that they want. Though, there’s only 1 in 216 if the person will be using three dice.

Indeed, gambling is really a game of chance, even if some people contend it uses skills. With gambling, people are really bound to lose.

Problem Solving Strategies

December 29th, 2008

What could you use a few good problem solving strategies for? New ideas for your business, perhaps. New ways to deal with your children. To come up with different approaches to building things, writing stories, or finding a job. Whatever the purpose, here are a couple powerful problem solving strategies.

Use Your Unconscious Mind

Use your unconscious mind to do your problem solving. Start by outlining a problem in your mind before going to sleep. Then tell your brain to go to work. Albert Einstein had good luck with this technique, sometimes getting his “ah-ha” insights while shaving the next morning.

Instruct your mind to keep working on the problem while you do other things. There is more than we know going on inside our heads. If you first work on a problem, then move on to other things while waiting for and expecting a solution, an answer may come to you when you least expect it.

You can also try working on problems when you are in a drowsy state. This is usually an “Alpha” state, and can result in more creative solutions. This is one of the best problem solving strategies for artistic work.

A Systematic Problem Solving Strategy

Train yourself to solve problems with one or more techniques. Just use a technique for several weeks, and it should become a habit. Here are a few to try:

1. Assumption-challenging. If you are assuming you need a better or higher-paying job, ask “do I really need a better job?” You could get a raise, or somehow make the job you have better. Starting a business on the side might be an option too. Never let your assumptions limit the possible solutions.

2. Solve the parts. To buy a house is a big move that is really a bunch of small steps, which is true of many problems. Address the components of a problem individually, and it may not seem so overwhelming. It is easier to motivate yourself in this way.

3. Ask other people. Whether or not they have good ideas, this helps you be sure you’re not overlooking anything obvious.

4. Write the problem down. Find another way to express the problem and write that down. Keep writing down solutions and ideas that come to mind. Later you can pick the diamonds out of the dirt.

5. Change perspective. What if you were rich, poor, a child, a visitor from another planet? How would you see the problem from this new perspective? Einstein imagined riding on a beam of light, which lead to his theory of relativity, so this technique has been known to work.

There are dozens of good techniques you can use to solve problems. There are also other general methods, like clearing a space to work in, or alternating between intense analysis and intuitive daydreaming. However many ways there are, though, it is using them that counts. If used well, you only need a few good problem solving strategies.

Business Innovation - the Value of Being Obvious

December 28th, 2008

Creativity can be defined as problem identification and idea generation whilst innovation can be defined as idea selection, development and commercialisation.

There are other useful definitions in this field, for example, creativity can be defined as consisting of a number of ideas, a number of diverse ideas and a number of novel ideas.

There are distinct processes that enhance problem identification and idea generation and, similarly, distinct processes that enhance idea selection, development and commercialisation. Whilst there is no sure fire route to commercial success, these processes improve the probability that good ideas will be generated and selected and that investment in developing and commercialising those ideas will not be wasted.

the Value of Being Obvious

One of the most interesting aspects of creativity and innovation is the general perception of obviousness.

A major block that falls under the general grouping “evaluation apprehension,” is people’s fear of being perceived as obvious or unoriginal. However, there are many benefits to obviousness, including:

a) Being obvious means that you are creatively thinking as opposed to critically thinking. By filtering obvious statements you are evaluating when you should be concentrating on generating a number of ideas that will be evaluated later.

b) Being obvious is a measure of the true self as opposed to the self that is presented to the world. Through sustained obviousness, it is possible to strip away the layers of blocks that prevent good ideas flourishing.

c) By preventing the obvious, you are not controlling evaluation apprehension.

d) Being obvious results in some of the most interesting and valuable ideas.

Lance Armstrong, Exercise, and Will Power- Characteristics that Make a Champion!

December 28th, 2008

The Tour De France, arguably may be the hardest sport of all time, and Lance Armstrong probably one of the most conditioned athletes ever. But, how is it possible for a man on the door step of death to be able to overcome cancer, return and win seven races in a row? Only in the end, retire on top as a winner he so right fully deserves.

How many wonder? How can any human being bounce back after such set back and compete let alone win one of the hardest sporting events possible? Why, others will ask? Why would a man want to put is mind and body through such tests? Is it a new lease on life? Is it a second chance, or is an obsession in the soul?

Many who live to compete in sporting events marvel at those who consistently rise to the occasion. But, all of us like a story. A story of triumph, especially when it has to do with human will power.

Being a fitness buff I always like to categorize what certain characteristics one may have in order to do what they do. Let’s look at a few that Lance Armstrong probably has:

1. Passion: You have to be sold out to doing what you want to accomplish. You understand at the start that you will have good days and not so good days.

2. Respect for the sport: You understand that the sport is much larger than you. You have the attitude each day that it is you chancing the sport not the sport living for you.

3. Willingness to learn: Each day will be an opportunity to learn something about you, the sport and the process.

4. Work smarter not harder attitude: It is not the one who necessarily works the hardest day in and day out. It is the one who continues to learn how to be more efficient in their craft.

5. Master the mental game first: The biggest and most challenging events, courses and obstacles are not the ones we run on but the ones we think upon. You must first win over the events in your head before you can win on the paths to victory.

6. Know when to quit: Winning has a lot to do with how you bow out as much as it does to entering your first event. Compete for the sport, not for your ego!

7. Learn from the best: Always have someone to whom you can learn more things about your sport from.

8. Surround yourself with winners: You are only as good as those around you. Develop a good support team around you.

9. Eat to Win: Practice great nutritional habits. To be at your best, you must fuel the system that will take you there.

10. When others say no, you say yes: Refuse to be normal. Be the best you can be. Never settle for less than you can give.

We all may never accomplish what Lance Armstrong has overcome; however, we all have our own journey’s to pursue. Achieving them is maybe more of a matter of will rather than what each of us are dealt with. For today you may say, how come? Tomorrow you may think how far?

Weight Training

December 27th, 2008

For those that would like a more vigorous workout plan, weight training is a viable option that can combine building muscle tone and working the cardiovascular system. Weight training tones your muscles and raises your metabolism, which helps your body burn more calories not only when exercising, but also while you sleep. Weight training reverses the natural decline in your metabolism, which begins around age 30; therefore this is something to think about for all those who have reached that age. Working with weights can produce a great deal of energy, and a full workout works almost all of the 650 muscles in your body. Looking toward long-term benefits, weight training strengthens bones, which can reduce your risk of developing osteoporosis. This of course is of very big concern amongst women, since osteoporosis afflicts women much more than men.

Many women worry that weight training will make them muscular and bulky like a mans; yet you must keep in mind that men and women have different muscular structures, therefore weight training will not develop big muscles on women, just toned muscles. Not only is weight training a routine that makes you strong, it is a routine that trains the body to build muscle instead of fat, takes stress off key areas of the body such as the lower back, making you less prone to injury in that area. Since high blood pressure or hypertension is a big concern with those who are obese, it is welcome news that weight training decreases your resting blood pressure. Weight training has also been proven to increase your blood level of HDL cholesterol, which is commonly referred to as good cholesterol. Overall health is definitely improved through weight training.

It is best to start with a plan, which may be joining a gym where you can regularly go to get a full workout, or purchasing a home workout system that uses resistance instead of weights but produces similar results. You must assess what type of person you are, and make the appropriate decision from there. If you like the idea of going out somewhere daily for your workout, welcoming the change of scenery and benefiting from the comradery of others who are also training, then you may want to opt for a gym membership. However, if you know you are the type that enjoys working alone and will not work out unless its in the convenience of your home where you do not have to get dressed and go out, then the home gym system option is for you. Only you can make this assessment of yourself. Some popular home gym systems include CrossBarTM and BowFlexTM. Many quality home workout systems exist, but of course none work when not used, so be sure that you remain focused and dedicated to your plan.

Whatever exercise plan you choose, it is best to exercise first thing in the morning, every morning. Our bodies were made to be active daily, and when exercise is performed in the morning, people are more successful at exercising consistently. Make your exercise as enjoyable as possible. Consider utilizing music, a book on tape, or watching television during your workout, depending on the type and location of your workout. If you’re a walker for example, you may want to get a good CD player to listen to music or books on tape. If you’re exercising inside, you may want to setup a television set or a stereo so that you can watch or listen while exercising. Whatever you do, make your exercise experience one you look forward to each day.

Don’t Overtrain for Faster Muscle Mass Gain

December 27th, 2008

Weight lifting programs and bodybuilding are based around the idea of progressive resistance or overload. The idea being that in order to build muscle and increase your strength you must constantly increase the stress on your muscles.

Then you must give your muscles adequate time to recover and rebuild so that you can again increase the overload and continue to build muscle.

The following weightlifting workout won’t do you a darn bit of good if you don’t adhere to the overload principle of progressive resistance.

Overload doesn’t necessarily have to mean an increase in your training poundages. You can also do more reps on a set with the same weight. Another way to bring about overload in these weighlifting workouts is to decrease the amount of time you rest between sets.

Doing more work in the same amount of time or doing the same work in less time is a great way to overload your muscles without increasing your workout poundages. This is the cornerstone of Escalating Density Training by Charles Staley.

Clearly, to make great muscle building gains, you can’t get complacent in your weight lifting workouts. You need to constantly strive to do more. And, as stated above, this does not mean working out more often or making your workouts longer.

You must make your workouts progressively harder and more intense.

However, this type of weight training routine is very hard on the recovery process so you must make sure you get enough rest between workouts to allow the muscle building process to take place.

Otherwise, you end up overtraining and instead of bigger muscles, your muscles will get smaller and weaker.

When training this intensely, it’s very important to take time off from your workouts. You should consider taking a week to ten days off every four to eight weeks to keep your mind and body fresh.

If you don’t recover from these weightlifting workouts you overtrain. And if you overtrain, you don’t get stronger and your muscles don’t get bigger.

The core of these power-mass workouts is the big compound weight training exercises like the following:

Squat

Deadlift

Bench Press

Chin ups

Dumbbell Press or Upright Row

Shrugs

Following is a sample weighlifting workout for developing power and building muscle.

Day 1

Chest, Triceps, Shoulders

Decline Bench Press 3 x 10, 8, 6

Decline Flyes 2 x 8 - 12

Incline Flyes 2 x 8 - 12

Dips 3 x 12, 10, 8

Tricep Pushdowns 2 x 8 - 12

Dumbbell Upright Rows 3 x 12, 10, 8

Incline Dumbbell Laterals 2 x 8 - 12

Day 2

Back, Biceps, Abs

Curl Grip Pulldowns 3 x 10, 8, 6

Machine or Dumbbell Pullovers 2 x 8 - 12

One Arm DUmbbell Rows 2 x 8 - 12

Incline Dumbbell Curls 1 x 8 - 12

Dumbbell Concentration Curls 1 x 8 - 12

Barbell Curls 1 x 8 - 12

Weighted Crunches 2 x 15 - 20

Reverse Crunches 2 x 15 - 20

Day 3

Legs

Squats 3 x 10, 8, 6

Leg Extensions 2 x 8 - 12

Stiff Legged Deadlifts 2 x 12 - 15

Leg Curls 2 x 8 - 12

Standing Calf Raises 2 x 12 - 15

Seated Calf Raises 2 x 12 - 15

This routine involves working each muscle group once per week. The idea is to keep the overall training session short but intense to avoid overtraining.

If you can recover from it, you may want to replace the Curl Grip Pulldowns and the Pullovrs with 4 sets of deadlifts instead.

If you feel you recover sooner than that, you may want to change up the split to something like the following:

You definitely don’t want deadlifts on the following split because you would find yourself doing deadlifts and squats on consecutive days.

Monday: Chest, Triceps, Shoulders

Tuesday: Legs

Wednesday: Back, Biceps, Abs

Thursday: Off

Friday: Chest, Triceps, Shoulders

Saturday: Off

Sunday: Off

Monday: Back, Biceps, Abs

Tuesday: Legs

Wednesday: Chest Triceps, Shoulders

Thursday: Off

Friday: Back, Biceps, Abs

Saturday: Off

Sunday: Off

Monday: Repeat at the top

If you haven’t been training, or haven’t been training very intensely lately, you’ll want to start out by avoiding training to failure for the first week or two. This will help you build up some momentum, as well as avoiding extreme soreness that will keep you out of the gym.
